The Pleiades

During the 37 days of the Pleiades' disappearance from the sky, we enter a time of chaos, transformation, and opposing forces—dawn and dusk—as manifested in the community, people, and place. In June, the constellation's reappearance symbolizes a transition from what is past (buried or below) to the present.

Chaos is navigated and expected.

  • We use this framework to incorporate times of recognized chaos in partnerships, businesses, and organizations. This approach allows transitions the space needed for transformation, helping us recognize underlying power dynamics and biases.

We can leverage these ancient frameworks in organizational design, conflict resolution, decision making and creating intentional power transitions.

    1. Team structuring and resources allocation.

    2. Personal Transformation

    3. Relationship evolution

    4. Planning, Re-organizations, and innovation sprints.

  • Acknowledging chaos and opposition, especially in projects and justice movements, requires diplomacy and clear boundaries, honing personal and team skills.

The Pleiades constellation cluster (known as the Seven Sisters in Western astronomy) is called Qollqa in Kichwa and holds profound significance for ancient and modern Andean civilizations.

The Pleiades helped mark relationship cycles - a celestial calendar, guiding people through the ebb and flow of seasons and the cyclical nature of existence.

Qollqa's disappearance from the night sky in April marks the time-in-between, with the Pleiades reappearing in late June.
